New Year: New Market

The snow is falling again but we, here at Madison Farms, are resolved to keep on with every bit of warmth and energy we can muster. In case you've been sitting by a toasty pot-bellied stove for a week, I'll tell you that it's been down right frigid. Single digits! Negative numbers!

Ignoring such winter roadblocks though, a number of farmers, crafters and fine cooks will be gathering this Saturday at MFF (Madison County Cooperative Extension, to be exact) for the first of many Indoor Winter Tailgate Markets. Check the flyer right now (and email it to your nearest/dearest):

Good, now that you've read the details and marked the events in your shiny new 2010 calendars (every 2nd and 4th Saturday January, February and March), let me tell you something else: farmers will be accepting cash, checks, EBT and credit cards. Makes it easy, right? And here's some of what they'll be selling:

Hot Breakfast Foods + Coffee
Crafts from your favorite Mars Hill Market vendors
Baked Goods
Eggs + Meat
Winter Produce
Potatoes (Yukon Gold, Kennebecs, Red Pontiac)
Lettuce (Bibb, Romaine)
Apples
Jams + Jellies
Goat Cheese
Dried Mushrooms
...and (the proverbial) much, much more!
